Creative Director role: 

Auctane's Creative Director will be responsible for leading and developing a global high performing team of creative professionals including graphic designers, video/multimedia specialists, agencies and vendors who conceptualize the expression and execution of end-to-end campaign content that resonates with our target audiences. This individual is expected to take a center role in elevating our brand strategies and delivering fresh and new expressions that capture the attention of our targets and invite them to engage with our offerings, as measured by improving our marketing effectiveness. Our ideal candidate is passionate about creating highly intuitive, beautifully crafted, well-communicated campaigns that implement our creative innovative vision, voice and style. This is a key leadership role at the center of our brand strategies that inspires our customer communities, attracts prospects and engages our employees. This director will be a key contributor to Auctane's leadership ranks and serve to collaborate with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Product Management, Product Design, Sales and others to deliver a unified and consistent brand experience across all channels. This director will also mentor and motivate others to solve interesting challenges to reach our audiences in new and innovative ways to help lead Auctane to its growth objectives.

Primary Objectives:

  • Brand Leadership for Auctane's family of brands, aligning creative initiatives that deploy through paid and owned media channels - both online and offline including Events, TV and Audio advertising -  to grow new user acquisition, activation, and engagement 
  • Partner with Marketing to execute creative for rapid experimentation of new channels, campaigns, events, incentives, and approaches for the purpose of building scalable demand generation
  • Partner deeply with the Brand & Campaigns teams to optimize the campaign creation model and tools for creative development and iteration, as well as supporting high priority internal executive initiatives.
  • Recruit and lead a team of skilled designers and content producers to supply marketing campaigns through ideation, execution, and delivery, continually raising the bar with high impact creative 
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization including product management, sales, marketing, operations, and communications
  • Raise the bar in creative and design best practice implementation at Auctane, serving as a role model for designers and marketers across the organization.

What We Are Looking For:                                          

  • Demonstrated track record at the Creative Director level in the software industry, including managing a multi-national, multi-time zone team that has successfully engaged with a broad stakeholder set.
  • Talent for developing elevated aesthetics, visually cohesive campaigns, and the ability to tell a powerful story through the work.
  • Experience working with consumer brands and B2B brands, ideally with exposure to ecommerce or logistics sectors.
  • Has shaped planning and execution of multiple, complex creative initiatives, led brand transitions, experimentation, and proven ROI growth. 
  • Strong design training and instincts with a proven track record of leading - both direct management as well as cross-team influence - to reach creative campaign goals. Comfortable with providing creative feedback and managing feedback processes.
  • Experience in agency and vendor selection and oversight, plus negotiating best partnership strategy to balance in-source and out-sourced work. 
  • Manages direct teams and managers, as well as cross-functional teams and brings a proven track record of performance optimization. Ability to act as a player-coach by executing creative work when needed to get the job done.
  • Strong leadership presence; serves as a senior leader within a company, influential with a diverse group of stakeholders and can create buy-in across an interdisciplinary talent set.
  • Solid experience in applying workflow tools and management systems that optimize resource productivity and deliver work on time, anticipating plan changes and adjustments, proactively seeking stakeholder input to align expectations.
  • Well versed in all advertising mediums and their appropriate usage including blogs, ebooks, social media, PPC, SEO, SEM, audie, video, TV advertising and mobile channels.
  • Leverage research, analytics and brand insights to optimize and improve creative performance.
  • Demonstrated experience building personal knowledge of complex businesses as well as experience building comprehension and knowledge across one's team.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced growth environment, highly organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask.

 What will Make You Stand Out:        

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Marketing, Art or Design. Masters degrees in Design or other related higher level education degrees are ideal.
  • Successful record of expanding responsibility including Creative Director roles in PE-back companies
  • Flair for the creative and fresh ideas

The Tech:                                           

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Google Workspace suite
  • Jira or other workload management systems
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects
  • Familiarity or an understanding of UI/ Web layout programs like Sketch, Adobe XD or Figma
  • Experience working with experimentation and testing platforms such as Optimizely and usertesting.com
  • Web design experience an advantage, especially using HTML5 and WordPress
  • Experience or an understanding of working within brand guidelines/ style guides and design systems

Location

  • Austin, TX preferred. Remote will be considered for exceptional candidates.

Travel Requirements

  • 25% Domestic & International Travel
