Subvrsive is seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director to join our creative team building immersive experiences for a variety of exciting brands. The ideal candidate is obsessed with new technology and has exceptional attention to detail for both design and copy.


Role & Responsibility


As an Associate Creative Director, you will provide effective feedback to everyone on the team including creative leads/art directors, 3D and Technical Directors, visual and UI designers, and creative strategists. You should be able to stay humble while leading and push work creatively while fostering an environment that encourages expression, inclusivity, and collaboration. You are a thoughtful manager who leads by example and takes pride in helping people grow creatively and professionally.


We’re looking for an innovative and experienced ACD, someone who is both a strategic thinker and team leader. Someone who can gracefully navigate between nurturing ongoing client relationships and winning new engagements while still getting the job done. As an Associate Creative Director, you'll collaborate closely with our diverse team of creatives, experienced product designers, 3D artists, technologists, and strategists to conceptualize and develop groundbreaking experiences and campaigns that seamlessly blend emerging tech to delight and captivate audiences.


Our ideal candidate would be able to:

  • Lead the creative process from concept to completion, generating big ideas that push the boundaries of immersive storytelling.
  • Pitch creative concepts and present work to clients, effectively articulating the creative vision and rationale behind concepts
  • Inspire and mentor a team of talented creatives, providing direction, feedback,even when you’re not on the same projects, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Lead a team of creatives to produce high-quality digital experiences, from concept to execution and express ideas across multiple forms of emerging and traditional digital media - AR, VR, 360° video, spatial web experiences etc.
  • Provide innovative solutions to creative problems, be a thought leader to our team and to our clients, and serve as the go-to person when creative solutions are needed.
  • Lead creative process during and after pitches, taking on projects both big and small while understanding client goals, target audiences, and creative opportunities across emerging technologies.
  • Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team, creating and leading presentations for clients and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality creative assets and experiences, ensuring they meet the highest standards of excellence and innovation.
  • Develop strong client relationships and be seen as a true partner with a deep understanding of their brand and product offerings
  • Champion strategically-led ideas that align with the client’s brand standards and messaging guidelines
  • Partner effectively with teammates in Client Services, Development, Production, Content, and UX to bring out the best of you and your team to our clients and the work
  • Stay on top of the latest trends, technologies, and consumer behaviors to anticipate and shape the future of immersive marketing and advertising.
  • Maintain the quality and consistency of the creative deliverables
  • Be a champion for our culture and values.


Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • 7+ years of experience in creative leadership in an agency/studio environment creating digital experiences required
  • Stellar portfolio that shows creative range and exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of developing visionary, integrated creative campaigns that leverage the power of innovation
  • Demonstrable ability to produce work that is original, consistent in style and quality, and on brand
  • Experience collaborating through shared documents and presenting work remotely as well as in person
  • Ability to work independently to solve complex problems in unique new ways
  • Ability to own projects from concept through execution and delivery
  • Ability to manage, educate, and train other members of the team, providing constructive feedback that leads to consistent, quality work
  • Collaborative, low-ego approach to working with multidisciplinary teams with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed
  • Strong client communication skills to help convey creative ideas
  • Disciplined, but not rigid
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build structure and process across teams
  • High-performance orientation with an appreciation for working smarter, not harder
  • Practiced in situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and empowerment
  • Optimistic and able to maintain a positive energy that inspires those around you
