Summary
Under general supervision of the Court Administrator performs work of considerable difficulty in coordinating and providing services to the Justice Courts. Performs other related work as assigned.
Essential Job Functions

• Assists and coordinates efforts to support all of the Justice Courts;
• Identifies problems, gathers and analyze information, makes recommendations and coordinates activities to meet the needs and goals of the judicial branch;
• Develops and implements processes to monitor timely processing of Justice Court cases;
• Monitors compliance with relevant statutes, rules and policies;
• Recommends and implements changes in rules, policies, and procedures as appropriate;
• Develops and maintains statistical data used to analyze caseload;
• Prepares and maintains complex reports and records;
• Serves as County Training Coordinator, including supervising and reporting compliance of training requirements by all court employees in Navajo County; planning, recruiting faculty, and coordinating details to provide quality training programs; operating satellite and other equipment, as needed; and maintaining training material and videos;
• Serves as Court Field Trainer in the Justice Courts, as needed.
• Assists in preparation and monitoring of Justice Court budgets and grants, identifying additional funding sources, procurement, and accounts payable;
• Supports human resource needs of the Justice Courts, including preparing information to recruit, hire and train personnel; participate in screening applicants and interviewing candidates.
Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of principles and procedures of the Arizona justice system and the application of statutes and legal precedents. With considerable knowledge at the Justice Court level;
• Knowledge of technology as applied to the judicial branch, and managing technology projects;
• Knowledge of principles and practices of administration, including minimum accounting standards, budgeting, purchasing and personnel administration;
• Knowledge of laws, rules and policies relating to case flow management, and managing case flow projects;
• Knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis.
• Skill in use of personal computer, word processing, Crystal reports and operating a variety of office equipment;
• Skill in understanding, interpreting and applying pertinent federal and state laws and regulations to the administration of court programs and departmental procedures and rules;
• Skill in effective communication both verbally and in writing;
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public;
• Skill in supervising the work of others.
Desirable Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; AND Seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in administration, training and management; proficient with computer programs such as the Arizona Court Automation system and Crystal Reports; AND a valid driver's license; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must complete the yearly 16 hours of training required by COJET (Committee on Judicial Education and Training).
