Form of workSentara Healthcare is currently seeking a Full Time Courier III based out of Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA. The schedule will be rotating shifts.
Picks up and delivers various items such as deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, x-ray films, lab specimens, letters, marketing materials and packages. Required to operate vehicle safely, keeps vehicle clean and well maintained; maintain vehicle safety logs and submit requests for vehicle maintenance/repairs in a timely manner. Tracks lab specimens, reports, supplies and all barcoded items.
Follows route sequence from the mobile cast electronic manifest, logging in and out at each location to provide real time route status. Proficient at performing 75% of all daily routes with the flexibility to work all three shifts in any geographic area when required. Serves as a mentor, trainer, and content experts for the courier staff and assists with their day to day operational questions. Performs functions of Materials Handler as required, including but not limited to, coordinating and managing incoming and outgoing supply and mail activities in courier/logistics area. Picks up and delivers various items such as supplies, x-ray films, lab specimens, letters, packages; operates vehicle safely, keeps vehicle clean and well maintained; maintains transportation logs and records. Tracks lab specimens, reports and supplies using the Frontline handheld.
Required Qualifications:
- HS Grad or Equivalent
- Valid Driver License
- 2 years Courier experience
