Bradford Health Services is an industry leader in providing hope and healing to people with substance use disorders and associated co-occurring disorders. We currently have immediate openings for licensed counselors, social workers, and marriage & family therapists for our Warrior, AL location.

Position Summary:
Provide patient support in accordance with established Bradford Health Services Philosophy and Standards of Treatment. Adhere to professional code of ethics. Assure documentation reflects the care delivered. Perform all other ethical and professional duties as requested by the Treatment Director or Clinical Program Coordinator. Responsible for territorial compliance wit all Bradford Health Services’ Standards of Conduct, Policy and Procedure and Principles of Treatment.
Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, “Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records”; and 45 CFR “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act”. This position has unrestricted access to patient health information.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must demonstrate an ability to support and coordinate the patient’s work on treatment objectives while keeping the patient, clinical team, payors and referral sources involved or informed as appropriate.
- Must have working knowledge of 12-step Programs and Principles.
- Must be able to integrate this knowledge into the therapeutic process and treatment planning while maintaining a professional treatment focus.
- Must demonstrate an ability to manage both addicted and dually diagnosed patients
- Must demonstrate an ability to assist patients through their denial and resistance to treatment.
- Must assist patient in planning for post discharge planning including their involvement in Continuing Care and 12-step Fellowships.
- Must provide legible documentation.
- Cannot function in Tri-Care programs or locations where payors require Nationally licensed counselors.
- Must participate in Clinical Team meetings.
- Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective managers.
- Must be able to work in constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
- Must be capable of being certified and administering CPR and First Aid.
- Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Treatment Director, Clinical Program Coordinator or designee.
- Addiction/Recovery Education: (Lectures/Presentations) (As designated by Treatment Director or Clinical Program Coordinator).
- Must demonstrate ability to provide clear, concise, relevant information on chemical dependency and recovery in a lecture format.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate information in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Must demonstrate ability to motivate patient and to learn and understand necessary facts about addiction and recovery.
- Must demonstrate a personal – professional lecture or presentation style that is effective with patients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Social or Behavioral Science is required.
- Two years experience in addiction treatment is preferred.
- Certification from recognized State Authority in addiction treatment (CAC, CADP) required, if not capable of applying for national licensure.
- Previous training in Clinical Program (e.g. Adult and/or Adolescent) Cross training preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Walk within the facility approximately 1/2 mile per 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to continuously sit from 1/2 hour up to 4 hours per 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to see corrected acceptable in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable).
- If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence.
