Mental Health Counselor

At Renewal Counseling Centers our mission is to provide a safe space to heal and grow. We are a loving private practice in Foley, AL that provides Mental Health counseling and group therapy for adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Additionally, we offer substance use disorder treatment in an outpatient setting and substance use assessments for referral to inpatient treatment facilities.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies to support positive change in patients
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute Mental Health episodes
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address issues and promote healthy coping mechanisms
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans

Skills:
- Strong understanding of Mental Health issues and theoretical orientations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to provide patient-centered care and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Experience in crisis management and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and strategies for working with challenging behaviors

Pay: $40,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
