Starting Pay: $21.84 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and retention of Food and Fund Drive donors, and coordinating logistical aspects of individual/association/school Food Drives, and corporate-sponsored Food and Fund Drives. The Corporate Engagement Coordinator will work closely and maintain productive work relationships with various Houston Food Bank (HFB) departments – most notably: Volunteer Services, Transportation, Warehouse, Marketing & Communications, Partner Services, and Donor Services. In addition to nurturing internal connections, this position will build strong relationships with various external HFB individuals and corporate partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Reliable, consistent, attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations.
  2. Coordinates all day-to-day aspects of food and fund drives, including scheduling, outreach, supply inventory, and logistics.
  3. Coordinates all aspects of workplace place-giving campaigns, including scheduling, communication, and public speaking.
  4. Develops and maintains food & fund drives and cause marketing campaigns, including engagement and stewardship of corporate coordinators and individual donors year-round.
  5. Works closely with mid-level to large corporate donors to establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships.
  6. Supports the Annual Giving team with area-wide Cause Marketing campaigns.
  7. Coordinates with internal parties to arrange staff and volunteer roles and participation in large-scale food & fund drives, including government.
  8. Maintains procedures relating to food & fund drives, cause marketing, and workplace giving campaigns.
  9. For government campaigns, the position will submit applications and plans for the following: National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive (NALC) campaigns, CFC (Combined Federal Campaign), and State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC).
  10. Engages in public speaking and making presentations to corporate partners and community groups as it relates to Corporate Engagement campaigns.
  11. Assists and coordinates facility tours for Corporate Engagement donors and prospects.
  12. Coordinates with the Communications department to update food and fund drive information on Houston Food Bank’s website and social media channels.
  13. Performs research and analyzes data.
  14. Manages event logistics effectively.
  15. Will develop and implement a tracking system to capture and celebrate Food Drive donations to HFB’s Partner Agencies.
  16. Supports, and tracks workplace giving campaigns, and various group volunteer experiences onsite/offsite.
  17. Assists in the cultivation of prospective corporate donors for various program initiatives.
  18. Assists with other Annual Giving appeals, as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Public Administration, Marketing, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in public speaking and communication related to events, customer service, or donor engagement and cultivation
  • Experience with fundraising techniques preferred
  • Experience with Raisers’ Edge preferred

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee will need to have the average ability to hear horns, warnings, and alerts associated with a warehouse. The employee must frequently travel to other sites for business.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an enclosed office environment, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, strong food-related smells, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the employee will be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels (e.g., horns, fans).

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Travel is required for this position (up to 40% of the time and on a domestic basis within our 18-county service area).

This role supports hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities, as necessary, and may require flexibility (e.g., times of disaster, community events, company events).
