This position is an Exempt position at pay grade 211.
Attendance
Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Communications Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing & nurturing robust relationships with stakeholders, community organizations, community groups, and the greater community. This role necessitates a strategic mindset, exemplary communication skills & the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences. Responsible for coordinating opportunities to build connectivity, support outreach initiatives, and leverage various communication channels to increase and encourage engagement for all City initiatives and related activities.
Responsibilities
- This position reports to the Marketing Administrator and collaborates closely with all communications personnel.
- Supports and coordinates the development and implementation of an integrated external communications strategy that aligns with the City’s overall goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Plays an instrumental role in building awareness of the City's initiatives by crafting compelling narratives and establishing relationships with relevant influencers.
- Ability to clearly articulate key messages verbally and in written form.
- Develop an external newsletter including a variety of written content, messaging, FAQs, blogs, pitches, and coordination of other materials that support the goals of the Communications Department.
- Identify and coordinate media movements and trends across various subject areas to develop proactive outreach opportunities.
- Assist in establishing measurable KPI's to ensure effective use of resources by reviewing the effectiveness of external communications strategy and implementation.
- Ability to foster trust to successfully build relationships with external stakeholders, community leaders, businesses, and other organizations on behalf of the City.
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience
- A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
