The Team You Will Join:Lifestyle Communities' (LC) Legal team checks, balances, and helps position our company for success. You'll join a dynamic team committed to providing legal advice and support to all departments, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and transactional documents; conducting legal research and preparing memoranda and reports; and managing and advising on risks and liabilities, to name a few.
Who You Are:As the Corporate Counsel, you will provide legal representation and guidance to Lifestyle Communities and its affiliates by supporting real estate acquisition and development, construction, financing arrangements, equity joint ventures, general company risk management, and guiding the internal legal functions of the company.

• Provides a high level of expert advice on complex legal matters in area of responsibility and/or leading a group that provides specialized expertise.
• Creates practical and effective solutions to legal issues with no established precedent; develops creative solutions to unique legal problems.
• Assists clients in addressing situations of high legal exposure or risk; understands overall business risk tolerance and considers it in the context of risk management strategies and actions.
• Actively identifies and logically assesses potential legal risks in ambiguous, unique, and/or complex business situations.
• Creates valuable risk management recommendations leveraging sound risk assessment information to further achievement of business objectives.
• Drafts necessary legal documents and develops conclusions and recommendations.
• Delivers difficult messages or news or challenges the client when necessary; responds to client challenges to advice directly and effectively.
• Completes other projects as directed or assigned.

What You'll Bring:

• 3-5 years of relevant law firm and/or in-house legal experience focused on real estate development.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Qualified and legally permitted to practice law in your state of residence.
• Experience handling a wide range of real estate matters (including drafting and negotiation of real estate purchase contracts).
• Substantial experience running transactions with minimal oversight and demonstrated ability to manage and develop attorneys as needed.
• Working knowledge of legal entities and corporate structure including formation and dissolution of LLCs and drafting and reviewing operating agreements.
• Ability to manage outside parties handling litigation and insurance claims.
• Extensive contract drafting, review and negotiation experience.

• Work requires strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Work requires ability to handle confidential or sensitive information properly.
• Some Travel will be required.
