JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller will be a key member of the finance team, providing oversight of all accounting and reporting activities to ensure the proper and accurate entry of accounting-related transactions, resulting in the timely completion of the monthly financial package. With a career path toward Director of Finance and Administration, this role plays a key part in the growth, success, and bottom line of the business.
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Operations
DIRECT REPORTS: HR Coordinator, Contracts Coordinator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for the overall management of the Finance Department, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll & benefits administration
· Responsible for accounts receivable, including preparation of billing, cash application & collections, and accounts payable with general ledger coding and journal entries
· Oversee set up of customer contracts in the ticketing system to ensure proper billing of rates
· Prepare bank reconciliations and responsible for daily cash management
· Review of weekly payroll processing
· Responsible for the month-end closing process, including proper revenue recognition, pre-paid expenses, and accrual analysis, as part of the monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
· Provide analysis to the Director as to various P&L account variances on a monthly basis as compared to forecasted and budgetary goals
· Preparation of the monthly financial package for review by the Director of Finance
· Manage multi-state tax exposure and Nexus requirements
· Prepare multi-state Sales Tax filings and other regulatory filings as required
· Handle all general insurance and workers’ compensation matters
· Oversees the annual financial review with the CPA firm to ensure adherence to GAAP standards
· Lead finance department initiatives on software applications for continuous improvement
· Ensure that all finance & administration policies and procedures are adhered to
· Identify new policies and procedures needed for a growing company
· Work collaboratively with the Finance team and other Departments within the company to continuously evaluate and improve Accounting processes and customer satisfaction

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:
· B. S. Degree in Accounting or Finance
· CPA or CMA preferred
· 7 - 10 years experience in a related position, preferably in a professional services environment
· Experience overseeing payroll & benefits
· Excellent analysis skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-department team environment
· Proficiency in Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Knowledge of ERP financial systems a plus
