As the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing and enforcing financial policies and procedures, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth objectives. You will provide financial and strategic leadership to the organization by overseeing all aspects of finance, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, risk management, and investor relations. Additionally, you will collaborate with other senior leaders to drive operational execution and value creation across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Analysis:
- Oversee day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow for liquidity and financial stability.
- Implement effective cash management strategies.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present timely financial reports to executive management.
- Lead team through first-year audit with a top 10 CPA firm.
- Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls.
- Identify and address areas for improvement in processes and controls.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings and lease administration.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting team.
- Restructure accounting reporting team for managed client business.
- Technology and Process Improvement:
- Lead ERP system implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in finance processes.
- Ad Hoc Analysis and Special Projects:
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
- Bachelors degree in finance or accounting.
- CPA required.
- Proven Controller experience, preferably in a private equity-backed environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with non-financial stakeholders.
- Startup experience a plus.
- SEC reporting and monthly reporting experience preferred.
