THE ROLE:
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, under the direction of the department Supervisor, will assign and distribute the day-to-day work assignments to shipping and receiving personnel. Coordinate all re-supply order shipping and receiving activities. In addition, this position will maintain and distribute shipping documents accordingly.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
- Coordinate the daily shipping activities such as pulling, packing, and preparing of re-supply order shipments in accordance with the shipping procedures
- Verify outbound shipments prepared by shipping personnel to assure accuracy of all items and quantities requested to ship and notify Supply Chain Planning of any quantity changes that are under/over by 10% of what was requested to ship
- Coordinate shipping schedule with Global Transportation to assure all shipments meet their scheduled cut-off ship dates and direct shipping personnel accordingly and notify Transportation and/or Supply Chain Planning of any delays or shipping issues
- Update the Oracle inventory management system via the pick/ship confirmation process immediately upon departure of a shipment
- Verify item/location/quantities on picking list and re-allocate item/locations as necessary to assure items are decremented from the correct location upon performing the pick/ship confirmation process
- Coordinate daily receiving activities and verify dock receipts completed by receiving personnel to ensure all inbound shipments that arrive by end of day are processed within the Oracle inventory management system by the end of each workday
- Maintain a list high in-demand products and inform departments upon receipt items from the vendor
- Verify the Job Qualifications:
- Good working knowledge or warehouse operations as it relates to the specific function of movement and inventory systems.
- Proficient with PC based software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Inventory Management Systems, Radio Frequency Bar Coding Systems, and data entry skills a must.
- Good mathematical skills
- Initiative, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Read, write and understand English with good oral communication skills
- Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Ability to function as an effective team member and work well in a moderately stressful environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully completed a forklift safety class and is certified to operate and maintain this certification.
- Bi-lingual communications skills preferred.
Experience:
- 4 years’ experience in general warehousing and inventory control
