Job Description:
The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Coordinator of Council and Chapter Development, which will be classified as a Student Services Specialist I.
The Coordinator of Council and Chapter Development will be responsible for council advisement which includes:
Advising of one of the governing councils (CPC, IFC, MGC, NPHC).
Meeting regularly with council leadership and supporting student leaders through goal attainment.
Communicating with chapter advisors about the governing council.
Reviewing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards created by the council leadership and ensure alignment with Sorority and Fraternity Engagement, Student Engagement, and Iowa State University policies and procedures.
This individual will also be responsible for membership growth which includes duties such as:
Coordinating orientation efforts on behalf of the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement.
Coordinating daily visit program in partnership with Admissions.
Serving as the primary advisor to the Sorority and Fraternity Community Ambassadors.
Assisting with council recruitment efforts.
Coordinating community wide marketing efforts.
The Coordinator of Council and Chapter Development will act as a chapter liaison. They will communicate with advisors, graduate chapters, regional directors, and national organizations for respective liaison chapters. They will also coach liaison chapters through a variety of issues including recruitment, risk prevention, leadership development, and organizational operations.
This individual will also provide regular performance updates for respective sororities and fraternities, participate in ongoing assessment efforts through the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement, provide regular metrics updates regarding community growth, and design assessment instruments for tracking Chapter and community recruitment and growth.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
