Position Summary
The Coordinator for Campus Visits will be primarily responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of Campus Visits for prospective students and community groups at University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). This position will also work in support of the department of NSFP within the Division of Student Success. This position will assist with the coordination and implementation of visit programming and the self-guided tour app. Under the supervision of the Director of NSFP, this position will assist with the supervision and training of 20+ student Ambassadors who aid with the facilitation of Campus Visits. This position will conduct thorough assessments of all visit types. In collaboration with campus and faculty partners, this position will also develop and write tour content for Ambassador staff.
Job Duties
Responsibility Area:
Coordinate Campus Visits for Prospective Students
Duties:
Develop, implement, and assess Campus Visits for prospective students and group visits for outside organizations
  • Set goals and implementation timelines associated with aspects of Campus Visits
  • Create a menu of events that focus on enhancing the campus visit experience and highlight UNO's points of pride
  • Manage the logistics of all visits
  • Coordinate and prepare for visits of prospective students, including development of itineraries, coordination of necessary logistical support, and welcoming all participants
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of and expectation for professional customer service by student staff during all interactions with students, parents, counselors, and other key stakeholders in the admissions and recruitment process
  • Oversee the logistical process of bringing groups to campus for visits coordinating across NSFP and Undergraduate Admissions
  • Identify and implement opportunities for faculty to impact the campus visit experience through educational and developmentally-appropriate activities
  • Identify and purchase promotional items that are within university brand standards for use within Campus Visits and group visits
  • Understand the matriculation process and use information to positively impact visit experience by providing recruitment advising meetings to prospective students regarding all potential programs of study across the university colleges including information on general education and degree-specific requirements, potential minors and the college as a whole
  • Develop relationship with Undergraduate Admissions in support of Campus Visits
  • Determine and write the content the campus tour content used by student staff and collaborate with campus partners to collect new content
  • Develop, manage, and update self-guided tour app content for prospective student and guest use
  • Develop, manage, and update content for Campus Visits publications
  • Manage a $70,000 budget for Campus Visits programming

  • Manage upkeep and maintenance of building and formulate building operating practices
  • Serve as emergency on-call point of contact for staff working in the building beyond typical office hours
  • Be CPR/First Aid and AED certified and perform appropriate emergency protocol
  • Employ chain of command and independently investigate and resolve building issues and on-call situations with follow up to supervisor as needed

  • Evaluate student performance and conduct performance reviews for staff
