Job Summary of Roles and ResponsibilitiesPOWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Controls Intern to work in our Facilities Controls Department located in our Minneapolis, MN or Boise, ID office. The selected candidate will perform detailed design of ICS/SCADA Controls solutions including, but not limited to:
- Designing control panels for Industrial and Federal projects
- Developing I/O Lists and I/O Wiring Diagrams
- Contributing to the development of construction packages and specifications
- Developing network diagrams and drawings
- Programming industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Assisting in the application engineering for sensing and control, as well as installed system troubleshooting
- Collaborating with other engineering colleagues on multi-discipline projects
- Coordinating with project clients, equipment vendors, and contractors
- Supporting project start-up activities with field commissioning
In addition to working under the guidance of experienced team members, the selected intern will also participate in sessions designed to develop your skills and provide networking opportunities. Those sessions include:
- Professional Development sessions focused on resume writing, interview tips, building a LinkedIn profile, and more.
- Early Talent Speaker Series where leaders speak to interns about their role, vision for the company, and career path, offer career advice, and a Q&A session.
- Fun Friday activities where interns company-wide join to network and have some fun while doing it
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in BSEE, BSCEN, BSCS, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university
- Programming Fundamentals
- Electrical Fundamentals of AC/DC Electricity
- Networking Fundamentals
- Ability to learn quickly
- Microsoft Office and the associated applications (Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.)
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- AutoCAD experience/fundamentals
- Working knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Desire to program with industrial software languages
