Control Room

Group Services, Inc. is seeking a Control Room Operator to provide the highest quality of service while managing various alarm and monitoring systems to ensure the protection of individuals, residences and business property. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. Control Room Operators must speak effectively with colleagues, customers and law enforcement authorities while dealing with situations that pose security risks. The best candidate will have a proven ability to remain calm and clear thinking in the face of challenging circumstances.

Duties include:

• Managing multiple technical systems (including fire alarms, burglar alarms, security cameras and other equipment) that cover multiple locations simultaneously.
• Analyzing situations to make quick and accurate decisions regarding security directives.
• Communicating with a high level of professionalism with clients, security personnel and law enforcement to ensure the protection of individuals, residences and business property.
• Maintaining a high level of attention to detail and immediate responsiveness to ensure security is maintained.
• Serving as the first point of contact to screen telephone calls and visitors to the headquarters office.

Qualifications :

• Must have top-quality customer service skills.
• Must have excellent technical and computer skills to manage multiple alarm systems and various software applications.
• Control room, security monitoring center and/or law enforcement dispatcher experience a plus.
• Experience working in a private security firm, law enforcement department or government protection environment agency preferred.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to stay mentally alert and focused while multi-tasking.
• Must have experience making quick and accurate decisions in potentially threatening situations.
• Must be willing to work any shift, although new hires typically start on the evening shift (6pm to 10pm) or the midnight shift (10pm to 6am).
• Must be able to work periodic mandatory overtime, which may include adding four hours either before or after a standard 8-hour shift.

Other:

• The wage for this position starts at $20.43 per hour, which would annualize at $42,500, if a full calendar year is worked. The position includes periodic mandatory overtime, which would bring the annualized income up further.

• 24-hour operation
• Full-time hourly position, with periodic overtime.
