Composite Technician

  • Compensation: $26.39 to $31.05 per hour

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Composite Technician essential duties.
  • Demonstrate mastery in operating Production Lines.
  • Troubleshoot Production Lines.
  • Use the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System as required in the execution of their job duties.
  • Use the Quality Issue Tracking System as required in the execution of their job duties.
  • Use other computer programs (e.g. Excel) as required in the execution of their job duties.
  • *Assist Process Engineering as required.
  • Assist Improvement Teams as required.
  • Able to work: day, night, and swing shifts*

 

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the Responsible Care EMS - Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).

  1. Intervene and take appropriate actions on any non-conformance, possible non-conformance, or concerns affecting 1) compliance with any known legal, regulatory or company requirement, 2) Safety, Health, Environment & Security (HSE&S) policies, procedures, or other management system requirements, and/or 3) expectations or needs of other interested parties and communicate it using the appropriate company process.
  2. Ensure the HSE&S, Responsible Care management Systems requirements are integrated into their organization’s business structure and processes and achieve intended outcomes.
  3. Promote an observable culture of process safety, product safety/stewardship and customer service within their organizational control.
  4. When requested, participate in the development, communication, and implementation of HSE&S and Responsible Care programs.
  5. Communicate and follow up as required on any HSE&S concerns, incidents, near misses, or opportunities for improvement using the appropriate company process.
  6. When requested, lead, participate and/or provide resources for Employee Safety Committee (ASC), Safety Meetings, Incident/Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Startup Review (PSSR), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and other related HSE&S, process safety, and customer service activities.
  • Must follow all MSOP & Plant Safety Rules.
  • Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • PPE required in this area are KEVLAR GLOVES, LATEX GLOVES, FULL FACE RESPIRATOR, HALF FACE RESPIRATOR, DUST MASKS, & EAR PLUGS. TYVEK Suits are also available for PROTECTION.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (must have)
  • Qualified Operator

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, techniques for effectively manufacture goods
  • Knowledge of machines and tools required at each task
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems
  • Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources

 

Ability to:

  • Work safely
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
  • Work overtime after 120 days probationary period.
  • Sit or stand for 10 to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Consistently climb stairs
  • Operate computer and related systems required
  • Complete and pass Essential Function Testing and Fit For Duty
  • Attendance is important
  • Respirator fit required

 

Preferred qualifications, but not required:

  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment

What will you get to do:
Safely and efficiently start-up, operate, monitor, control, and shutdown equipment. Ensure products consistently meet internal and external customer requirements and expectations throughout the process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot equipment; identify root causes and take corrective action to resolve problems.
  • Recognize quality issues and make adjustments to ensure excellent quality.
  • Perform general upkeep on equipment to improve reliability and process and product consistency.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to achieve and exceed result targets
  • Perform material handling, including properly packaging and labeling of products
  • Tie on or splice ends to repair breaks in creel and throughout the production line
  • Cleaning and maintaining clean equipment and work area while manufacturing materials
