Job Description
Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
- Perform system and sub-system level Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support vehicle design optimization.
- Analysis to be performed using the BetaCAE software suite including ANSA & META.
- Perform stress and dynamic calculations for impact, shock and vibration environments.
- Ability to perform fatigue analysis on structures and various components is a plus.
- Perform stress analysis on structures and appendages.
- Perform bolted joint analysis for joint sizing.
- Derive design load requirements for subsystems and mounting provisions.
- Prepare summary reports in accordance with internal department standards.
- Communicate project results to management and customers as required.
- Interface with design engineers throughout the development process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have
- 7+ years relevant experience
- Degree requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Experience with the following analysis solvers: Nastran, LS-Dyna and Optistruct
- Familiarity with the following analysis methodologies: Static Acceleration, Modal & Direct Transients, Frequency Response Spectrum, Fatigue & Durability
- Familiarity with the following: Static Equivalent Acceleration, Modal Effective Mass & Bolted Joint Analysis
- Must be able to manipulate geometry and construct FEA models using ANSA software.
- Must be familiar with using related software in Windows and Unix systems
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly present results in front of an audience
- Must be able to prioritize workload and communicate with internal customers
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including virtual meetings
- Must be able to analysis assignments on schedule and within budget with minimal guidance
