Content Specialist, Inspirational Brands

Overview
Salem Web Network (SWN) is hiring a full-time Content Specialist for our Inspirational Brands to oversee social media and newsletter coordination, as well as content curation and publication for the brands. SWN reaches our audience of an impressive 42 million Facebook followers and 15 million email subscribers. SWN's inspirational content team curates and creates uplifting content to share with this audience. It's our team's goal to be an online respite by sharing inspirational content from across the web with our viewers. This position provides support in delivering these positive, uplifting stories and videos to our audience.
Responsibilities
ADMINISTRATIVE

• Social Media Coordination - Use tools such as Buffer to schedule content across social media platforms daily, with an emphasis on Facebook.

• Newsletter Coordination - Schedule daily content newsletters for GodUpdates and GodTube using a proprietary Content Management System. Perform quality control for sent newsletters, ensuring that they are landing in our audience's inboxes each day and that the content in them clicks through to the sites properly.

• Customer Care - Monitor incoming messages from viewers, provide customer service, and send any site concerns to the appropriate staff, as needed.

CREATIVE/EDITORIAL

• Content Finding- Assist with finding and pitching ideas for inspirational articles and videos to share with our audience

• Writing - Write articles as assigned

• Editing - As needed, edit articles written by freelance authors for brand voice, tone, grammar, and accuracy

• Image creation - Select and create appropriate thumbnail images to attract and encourage audience interest in viewing the content, abiding by copyright laws.

• Podcast production - Record voiceover scripts for our team's bi-weekly podcast and send audio to the editors.

Qualifications
MUST-HAVES

• The candidate for Content Specialist, Inspirational Team will be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, excellent time management, and attention to detail
• This person in this role must be able to work well with a team but also be able to work independently with little daily supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Social media content creation/production to potentially include TikTok-style videos
• Experience using Buffer, ZenDesk, WordPress, Content Management Systems, Google Sheets/Documents
• College degree in Social Media Marketing or related field
• Familiarity with AP-style writing
• Understanding of SEO and how to attract Google direct traffic to website
• Podcast production and/or voiceover experience
