ARRC is currently seeking a proficient and motivated Construction Project Manager for their growing team in York, PA. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project in the construction phase, from pre-construction planning through the completion of the project closeout. This position requires experience and knowledge of stream and wetland restoration work.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively manage and lead Project Engineers
- Negotiate and purchase materials, services and subcontracts for assigned projects
- Coordinate with Construction Superintendent to ensure projects are manned and meet schedules/budgets
- Approve and forward submittals for any drawings and material samples according to schedules
- Conduct project start-up and ongoing project conference meetings and prepare written minutes
- Work with vendors, estimators, and on-site supervisors to complete projects timely and profitably
- Revise budget reports to reflect actual prices when contracts or commitments are received
- Send subcontracts or purchase orders to appropriate subcontractors/vendors to establish price for goods and services
- Establish construction schedule with assistance of Project Engineers, Estimator and Superintendent
- Review project budget with Estimator, Project Engineers, and Superintendent
- Notify, coordinate and schedule subcontractor and materials
- Work with Project Engineers and Superintendents to review job progress and cost reports regularly
- Assist and advise Project Engineers and Superintendent on meeting job specifications and meeting schedules
- Provide information from project estimate to Field Supervisor to properly manage project within budget
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly project costs prepared by Project Engineer and Project Accountant, and report inconsistencies to management
- Prepare all change order requests for client’s approval
- Coordinate with Estimator on the estimation of all change orders
- Document all field directives from owner or engineer that change scope or design of contract documents
- Process and coordinate changes in project such as design changes, lost days, scope, alternate methods of construction and keep all necessary parties informed of changes
- Conduct punch list walk-through with owner, engineer and major subcontractors
- Conduct job summary meetings with project team at completion of project to discuss performance of subcontractors, analyze budget, schedule, estimate, and discuss any open items for close-out
- Meet with subcontractors to review job progress and implement plans to meet schedules
- Manage Quality Control including pre-construction meetings, initial inspections, field tests, commissioning, and final site inspections
- Manage and resolve conflicts and problems
- Originate and/or review, submit, log and distribute RFI’s and responses
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior Project Management experience
- Environmental or Construction Management degree or background with demonstrated field experience is preferred
- Experience and knowledge of stream, wetland & floodplain restoration work is required
