The Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire an experienced Construction Project Coordinator 3 to join the team. This position plays a key role in coordination and oversight through design and construction of DNR facilities. It also works with the agency's various programs to plan for their needs across multiple horizons and assists in achieving those needs.
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone able to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to effect change in a dynamic environment. We are looking for someone who possesses vetted project management skills and has working knowledge of the standard principles and practices related to Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. This important position will require the ability to communicate clearly, pay attention to details, and work as part of a larger team to reach common goals.
Duties
Responsibilities:
This position covers a broad field of design and construction dealing with new builds, facility energy improvements, and remodel/renovation upgrades. This is a senior level position for cost estimates, including long-range and escalation forecasts, as well as preparing and maintaining budget estimates for facilities planning and capital budget acquisitions. The position combines knowledge from carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering fields to coordinate, direct, and review the development of design and specification for complex facility projects. This position will apply energy reduction technologies to building design, with heavy consideration given to HVAC, lighting, and building envelope, to both reduce energy loads and increase efficiency of current systems. The position will manage Architect and Engineering contracts, work with design teams to prepare designs for Public Works projects, work with contractors on execution of Public Works projects, and coordinate agency employees on Construction Projects. This position works with the project team to maintain scope, schedule, and budget. The position reports to Construction Project Coordinator 4.

Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher involving major study of architecture, engineering, construction management, or closely allied field AND 5 or more years Construction Project management experience;
OR equivalent education and/or experience. - Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity and inclusion and environmental justice practices.
- Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and public records retention and requests are followed.
