Form of workCONSOR Engineers is currently seeking a Construction Inspector`s Aide to work our South Florida offices. As a Construction Inspector’s Aide, you will assist Inspectors and Senior Inspectors in all aspects of daily Roadway Construction Inspection on government funded road and bridge construction projects. This includes but is not limited to materials sampling and testing, and inspection of Earthworks, Concrete, and asphalt to ensure quality control and contractor compliance with FDOT and/or Municipality specifications.
- Ensure contractors adhere to client plans and specifications. Training will be provided.
- Coordinates work and inspections with contractor’s representative as required by higher-level inspectors.
- Monitoring and documentation of on-site construction activities
- Inspection of construction materials in accordance with the clients specifications. Training will be provided.
- Inspection of materials includes but is not limited to sampling and testing of earthworks, concrete, and asphalt. Training will be provided.
- Transporting samples to be tested to appropriate testing facilities.
- Maintaining detailed, accurate records of daily operations and significant events
- Preparing daily inspection reports (Daily Work Reports or DWRs). Training will be provided.
- Monitoring and inspecting work zone traffic control in accordance with the client’s requirements (MOT monitoring). Training will be provided.
- Communicate effectively with contractor personnel (Must be able to speak English effectively)
- Responsible for assisting Inspectors and Senior inspectors in the performance of their duties.
- Fulfilling other job duties as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant construction inspection experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to CONSOR’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background screening.
- Must successfully complete and pass CONSOR’s Motor Vehicle record screening.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs. on a daily basis.
- Able to work outdoors.
- Able to work the occasional night shift.
