Job Overview:
Supervises inspection of projects assigned. Based on the area of assignment, may be responsible for projects in a public division or sewer, water and solid waste projects in the Utilities Division. Responsible for the supervision of Engineering Inspector I and lI's for detailed inspection for compliance with specification, drawing and terms of contract for work performed by private contractors. May make field changes that do not alter the scope and cost of construction. May schedule and observe contractors materials, structure and process tests and evaluations. Required to maintain records and prepare reports. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years experience being responsible for the supervision of Engineering InspectorsI
• Thoroughly understand and have performed detailed inspection for compliance with specification, drawing and terms of contract for work performed by private contractors. May make field changes that do not alter the scope and cost of construction.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent and six years of appropriate engineering experience based on area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and obtain a Florida Drivers License by date of hire.
• Depending on area of assignment, must have satisfactorily completed the Contractor's Underground Utility Examination for inspectors or must complete within six months of entry into the position.
• Must have the ability to communicate with the general public while discussing, explaining and interpreting standards and codes
• Depending on area of assignment, must have satisfactorily completed the Contractor's Underground

• Requiered to travel up to 100 miles per week to include off-road travel

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and six years of appropriate engineering experience based

• Work hours will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, M-F. There is possible overtime occasionally, which could be as much as 10-15 hours per week but no guarantee of this.
