HOURS: 15 per week (M-F, 10 am-1:00 pm)
Responsibilities:
Supervise MOC volunteers while at kitchen facility; maintain safety and food sanitation procedures; monitor cold pack matrix; organize portioning of daily menu desserts and packaging of cold packs; and communicate regularly with Catering Kitchen Manager(s).
SUPERVISION AND SANITATION:
- Congregate Site Manager / Kitchen Assistant ensure MOC volunteers and Operation ABLE staff (hosted by MOC Elder Nutrition) maintain and follow all Board of Health sanitation requirements and program standards as well as daily sign-in.
- Congregate Site Manager / Kitchen Assistant attend the EOEA sanitation training provided annually by the Nutrition Program Coordinator.
- Assign daily tasks to Operation ABLE staff (hosted by MOC Elder Nutrition) and MOC volunteers and ensure tasks are completed according to the daily schedules.
- Congregate Site Manager / Kitchen Assistant report any issues concerning staff, volunteers, and/or food safety and sanitation to supervisor.
MONITOR COLD PACK MATRIX:
- Monitor accuracy of the cold pack matrix (daily, supper, and weekend) compared to meals ordered and report inconsistencies to supervisor; adjust the schedule for holidays and/or count changes per supervisor’s instructions and report inconsistencies and/or issues to supervisor.
ORGANIZE DESSERT PORTIONING AND PACKAGING OF COLD PACKS:
- Daily review of the menu noting the dessert to be portioned and if there is a diet component; set-up portioning stations (daily, supper, and weekend cold packs) for Operation ABLE staff (hosted by MOC Elder Nutrition), MOC volunteers, and/or complete autonomously according to cold pack matrix for respective weekday.
SUPERVISE PACKAGING OF FROZEN MEALS
Review frozen meal matrix and ensure the correct count of multi pack frozen meals are completed daily.
OTHER:
- Check in daily with MOC Transportation Coordinator for therapeutic meal count and heat those required meals to 165 degrees for home delivered routes.
- Check in daily with the Catering Kitchen Manager(s) to assist them with any additional tasks that might need to be completed including but not limited to: (wrapping pans and portioning congregate desserts).
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must pass acceptable CORI check. Food service experience preferred. Ability to multi-task and be a team player in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. Good interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license required. SERV Safe certification desirable.
