GENERAL SUMMARY
Serve as Compliance Specialist to ensure consistent compliance with credit union policies and procedures and all local, state and federal regulations. Responsible for monitoring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for monitoring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures.
- Assist with day-to-day BSA/AML transaction monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- As BSA CTR backup, ensure that BSA CTR reporting is reviewed and filed in timely manner.
- Perform OFAC verifications as needed.
- On an ongoing basis, review laws and regulations that impact the credit union's compliance with emphasis on BSA. Respond to regulatory issues and changes as they arise.
- Distribute information and answer questions on BSA compliance-related issues.
- Assist the Compliance Officer in the preparation for audits and regulatory examinations.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures, including compliance with federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.
- Review new accounts and newly added joint members to ensure CIP, due diligence, completeness and accuracy.
- Perform reviews of new business account documentation to assure all required information is supplied and correct prior to account opening.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSMaintain BSA Compliance Specialist (BSACS) Certification. Ensure ongoing continuing education of regulatory compliance and BSA by attendance at seminars and classes.
- Requires well-developed interpersonal skills for communicating with co-workers, auditors, and examiners.
- Requires completion of high school education and additional coursework (equivalent to two years of undergraduate study) in accounting, business, finance or a related curriculum. Must also have least six months of experience in a financial institution operations or services position.
- An overall knowledge of the various operations of the Credit Union and how the regulatory process works.
- Understand and be fully knowledgeable of the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and all related regulations.
- Knowledgeable regarding applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Requires PC proficiency and a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint software programs. Requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work well unsupervised, organize work efficiently, and maintain a high level of motivation.
