Job Title:Compliance Specialist
Reports To: Director of Administration
Status: Full-time, Exempt,
Location: Remote position considered, candidate should be willing to travel to sites within First Children Services locations as needed.
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Compliance Specialist at First Children Services! In this role, you will assist in ensuring our organization remains compliant with all relevant regulations and standards. Your responsibilities will include conducting internal audits, maintaining health and safety standards, assisting with external audits, and supporting the credentialing process for licensed/certified staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulations such as DOE, DCF, PA IBHS, FERPA, and HIPAA.
- Perform quarterly physical plant assessments to ensure health and safety standards are met.
- Report audit and assessment findings professionally and constructively.
- Assist in developing remediation plans as needed.
- Support external audits as directed.
- Facilitate the credentialing process for licensed/certified staff.
- Attend compliance committee meetings and contribute as required.
- Review and approve new hires' background checks and documents.
- Assist with new hire orientation.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with all departments and staff.
- Stay updated on laws, regulations, and policies related to compliance.
- Travel to FCS sites as necessary.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Environments and Demands:
- Work can be supported in a typical office setting, remote work considered with occasional travel to program locations.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and good hand-eye coordination.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Related field, Business Administration, or relevant studies (Associate's Degree with 2-3 years additional related experience may be considered).
- 1-3 years of compliance experience preferred, with exposure to operations or audit functions.
- Experience within NJ DOE or general healthcare compliance strongly preferred.
- Excellent people skills, conflict resolution experience, project management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high regard for accuracy and confidentiality
