Opportunity
The Compliance Analyst role is part of a global compliance team and is instrumental in managing business risks through the development, planning and execution of the Värde compliance program. This role directly interacts with in-house legal, compliance and audit professionals, investment professionals, business professionals and certain external advisors.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Assist the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and the Compliance team with the execution of the compliance program
- Manage the code of ethics program, leveraging specialized software:
- Assist employees with the addition and removal of brokerage accounts and manage brokerage feeds;
- Maintain accurate holding lists for compliance checks;
- Monitor routine compliance events daily, noting any exceptions and/or escalating as required;
- Coordinate initial, annual and ad-hoc compliance certifications; following up and assisting Värde staff as needed;
- Review pre-trade requests and assist employees with personal trading relate issues;
- Review brokerage account statements;
- Prepare periodic reporting; and
- Work directly with the software provider to resolve system questions or concerns.
- Order and review certain AML/KYC reports
- Provide back-up support to the compliance team
- Maintain restricted list, working with investment professionals as needed
- Coordinate and submit regulatory filings within required deadlines
- Maintain compliance logs, including coordination of information requests
- Review deal and fund activity to detect any potential compliance issues
- Perform compliance assessments and assist with the annual compliance review, including coordinating information requests, following up on corrective actions and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Serve as a resource for Värde staff regarding compliance issues
- Other special projects as necessary
Qualifications
- One to three years of work experience; compliance, financial service and/or audit experience preferred
- Business-related four-year college degree
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex
information effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations - Ability to manage workload while meeting mandatory deadlines
- Demonstrate teamwork in facilitating workflow
- Knowledge and experience regarding SEC investment advisor regulations preferred.
- Personal characteristics of self-confidence, resourcefulness, judgement, self-motivation,
discipline, and accountability - Able to work in the United States without sponsorship
