Job description

Role Summary:

 

Environmental and Trade Compliance Analysts successfully lead the company to meet or exceed Environmental and Trade Compliance requirements for any and all products produced. Environmental and Trade Compliance Analysts ensure that all customer communication, documentation, products, processes, materials and components remain in compliance and that compliance activities are thoroughly documented, up-to-date with laws, treaties, agreements and regulations and that all processes associated are efficient, effective, and profit-minded.

 

Environmental and Trade Compliance Analysts are the subject matter experts of customer requirement flow-downs, environmental laws and agreements; trade laws, treaties, and agreements; and are experts of product, process and component content. Environmental and Trade Compliance Analysts daily support Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and Production.


Role:

· Successfully ensure that at all times the company is aware of, and meeting or exceeding requirements related to trade laws, agreements, and sanctions.

· Accurately, proactively and continually audit import/export processes to ensure compliance with up-to-date customs regulations and Trade agreements. Coordinate periodic internal and external audits globally. Establish and implement corrective/preventive actions to continually improve performance.

· Effectively collaborate with logistics, quality, customer service, and sales, to resolve Trade Compliance issues and mitigate risks. Apply for and manage all export-import licensing.

· Lead and coordinate activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, ITAR, EAR99, specially-designed, and ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, ACE reporting, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening.

· Proactively monitor, interpret, and communicate environmental regulations to ensure all company processes and activities align with applicable laws at all times.

· Lead and coordinate the development, review company position statements and policies on areas such as product content, component content, and export control. Effectively serve as subject matter expert for all REACH, RoHS, WEEE and conflict minerals working closely with Engineering, Quality and Purchasing.

· Assist the company in preparing, submitting, tracking, and monitor licensing, certificate of origin documentation and any special permit required for importing of supplies.

· Work with Commerce & State Jurisdiction, classifications and USG policy related to technology and international relations.

· Work with proprietary information and handle competition-sensitive materials and information with discretion.

· Successful and demonstrated experience responding to and resolving opportunities, questions, concerns, and challenges.

· Exceptional project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills, including all those customer-facing, external, and internal.

· Thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic, active and high-volume work environment.

· Competent and proficient with all Risk Analysis, Failure Analysis/Measurement Analysis/Statistical Analysis tools, calculations, principles and methods.

· Strong understanding of environmental regulations and international trade laws.

· Sound analytical skills to interpret complex regulations and assess organizational compliance.

· Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage and organize large sets of data.

· Competent and proficient with all Microsoft applications, ERP systems, and an ability to learn more.

 

Work Experience:

· A minimum of three (2) years working in a similar role at a business-to-business manufacturing company with diverse product and service solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

· Working knowledge of REACH, RoHS, WEEE and conflict mineral requirements.

· Working knowledge of Dodd Frank

 

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, International Business, or a related field.

 

Work Environment:

· General office, engineering and production floor, and manufacturing environments.

· Some Domestic Travel might be 10% or more, as needed.

· This position is a regular, full-time position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
