The Long Island Nets are the wholly owned and operated NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. As a direct affiliate of the NBA franchise, the Long Island Nets provide the organization with an avenue for player and staff development in a consistent environment. The Long Island Nets have called Nassau Coliseum home since 2017.
SUMMARY
The Community Relations Coordinator will assist in planning and executing Community Relations programs, initiatives, and special events throughout the local community for the BSE Global Growth Properties team (Long Island Nets & Nets Gaming Crew). This position reports to the Senior Manager, Community Relations & Game Presentation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist with planning and execution of community programs, initiatives and special events for the Long Island Nets and Nets GC as it relates to our three community pillars: Education, Health & Wellness, and Community Development.
- Handle and fulfill all donation requests and provide monthly/yearly summaries for all donations.
- Facilitate, schedule, and manage youth basketball camps, clinics, and events year-round.
- Generate summaries highlighting the focus, impact and resources dedicated to outreach efforts supported by Growth Properties.
- Work alongside Public Relations, Communications, and Basketball Operations to organize, record and track all community and player appearances.
- Support the department's general efforts in the corporate/Community Relations space, including tentpole events and gameday operations.
- Maintain event calendar and all community partner ticket allocation.
- Serve as a key point of contact on departmental projects and initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 1-2 years of Community Relations experience in sports or entertainment industry preferred.
- Prior experience running youth basketball clinics highly preferred.
- Schedule flexibility to attend all Long Island Nets and Nets GC home games, plus select Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty home games. This position will involve working outside of standard business hours as needed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to travel on rare occasions (<15% travel); trips may require travel within the New York City area to attend community events, clinics, etc.
SALARY RANGE
$58,500 - $70,000
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent will work primarily at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY. This role may also require occasional hours worked at our Corporate Headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn or at Barclays Center. You will be expected to attend Long Island Nets games, as well as other community events for both the Long Island Nets and Nets GC that may take place on weekends and/or holidays.
