Sentara Health is currently hiring a Community Engagement Consultant for the Marketing team!
This is a full-time position with excellent benefits located in Norfolk, VA offering a hybrid work schedule! This position will work closely with Diversity & Inclusion as well as Health Equity.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in community outreach and engagement, public relations, and event planning required.
- Experience in hosting and developing community events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital applications and databases. Excellent organizational skills.
- Solid knowledge of the healthcare industry is desired.
- Demonstrated ability to elicit support and enthusiasm from corporate executives, managers, employees, and supporting departments to effectively implement corporate vision and mission.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Master's degree in public policy, public health, healthcare administration, or business preferred.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for coordinating and implementing marketing campaigns and community outreach campaigns, workshops, forums, or other events. Lead marketing efforts for health equity diversity and inclusion.
- Enhances the Sentara brand through reputation building with community leaders, legislators, and other key influencers. Identifies key community offerings, opportunities, and events where the company should be represented.
- Identifies entities, populations, and segments where we should be associated and develops relationships with those entities.
- Develops databases of groups that can be used for outreach as these groups would serve as company ambassadors.
- Serves as a relationship manager with ambassador populations.
- Assists in identifying opportunities for key memberships, sponsorships, and grant-giving associated with corporate social responsibility.
- Assists in the administration of the funding for these opportunities.
- Represents the company at key events emphasizing those that are healthcare-related, corporate social responsibility focused, community-oriented, and/or demonstrating the healthcare economic impact in communities.
