Responsibilities:
The candidate must have excellent communications & editing abilities and the ability to multitask while working under tight deadlines. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to coordinate with a training development team to produce clear and concise documents appropriate for the intended audience. The candidate will be required to present sample editing products.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies, creating and editing content.
- Editing instructional and promotional materials for a training development group.
- Coordinating with a team of instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers, multimedia specialists, technical writers, and documentation specialists to create both paper- and web-based training products.
- Ensuring technical training meets instructional objectives and is written to a level appropriate to the target audience.
- QA editing a variety of materials for grammar, style, content, format, consistency, organization, and instructional efficacy. This may include developmental editing of work submitted by other team members.
- Reviewing storyboards for web-based courses.
- Editing scripts for video projects.
- Editing evaluation and testing instruments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field, or combination of education and experience.
- Four years direct experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office Suite.
- Ability to adhere to different style guides (i.e., GPO, MLA, APA, etc.).
- Ability to work within a team in a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of Section 508 requirements.
- Experience editing for the healthcare or medical field a plus.
