Position Type/Standard Work Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive benefit package and salary commensurate with experience: range $100,000 – $130,000 USD.
Summary/Objective:
The Communications / Public Relations Specialist position will support the SSC/IG office by applying critical thinking and analysis to provide expert Congressional analysis, synthesis of Congressional Defense Committee (CDC) concerns and issues, as well as insight and knowledge of the annual congressional cycle, processes, and the various events in the Air Force / Space Force Task / Response Timeline to Congress. This position is pending contract award, targeted for May 2024.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct congressional research and assist the Government with preparation and review of AF responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Questions for the Record (QFRs), strategic messaging, hearings, and testimonies for all levels of senior leadership, and all other SSC Congressional-related activities.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and preparing logistics for Staff/Congressional Delegation and committee visits, and prepare congressional briefing templates and materials for SSC reviews.
- Prepare bi-annual briefing for presentation to the SSC PEOs, SSC/CC, and / or next-level SSC Leadership regarding the congressional players, climate, upcoming electoral issues, concerns, and items of interest, and relay pertinent, real-time information by phone or e-mail to the PEOs, and their staff.
- Requires master’s degree, with 10+ years of demonstrated experience in related fields.
- Must be knowledgeable of the mission, functions, organizational structures, operations, and roles of CDC’s, DoD, Air Force, Space Force, SSC, and other entities that govern, interface with, and / or influence space programs acquisitions, reporting, and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communication both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical and administrative accuracy in a professional manner.
This position does not supervise the work of others.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.

Very little.
