Job Category: Corporate Affairs / Communication

Job Level: Individual Contributor

Business Unit: Corporate Affairs

Work Type: Hybrid

Job Location: Oakland

Department Overview

The Community Relations team leads the company’s community investment and employee engagement efforts, connecting our charitable resources, employees, and various lines of business with community and non-profit organizations supporting investments in People, Planet and California’s Prosperity. Community Relations is responsible for all philanthropy for both PG&E and The PG&E Corporation Foundation (the Foundation), which in 2023 supported nearly 1,000 contributions totaling nearly $26 million. Additionally, Community Relations is responsible for overall coworker volunteerism and the company’s annual matching gifts campaign. Community Relations, as part of the larger Corporate Affairs organization, works to form key partnerships and develop critical signature initiatives in support of the Hometowns we serve.

Position Summary

The Community Relations Specialist, Expert role is responsible for leadership and implementation of PG&E and the Foundation’s charitable giving under our Prosperity pillar.  This includes investments large and small in support of higher education attainment and job readiness in STEM fields, training for careers in the skilled trades and creating resiliency for the myriad of small businesses in northern and central California.  The position is responsible for working with key nonprofit organizations and internal and external stakeholders to administer approximately $5 million in annual giving each year. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of taking ownership of the successful execution of existing programs and designing new programs with the intent of creating holistic and sustainable impact in our local communities.  The role engages with many internal stakeholders, including the broader Corporate Affairs organization, internal business leaders, employee resource groups, and others at all levels of the company, from local coworkers to the C-Suite, while considering company priorities reflective of the many communities and internal and external stakeholders we serve. The successful candidate will be creative with strong project, budget management and relationship skills, accustomed to working in a collaborative, cross-functional manner with coworkers and community members.

The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $114,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000.00
