The intern in this role must be willing to learn and take ownership of their responsibilities. Proficiency in videography, photography, and writing is essential. While you may excel more in one area than the others, having a basic understanding and eagerness to learn how to convey narratives through various mediums is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft media pitches and press releases for distribution to journalists and media outlets.
  • Assist in managing and updating the organization's social media accounts.
  • Create and schedule posts, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers.
  • Monitor social media trends and provide insights to improve content and engagement strategies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of public relations campaigns and events.
  • Prepare media kits, press materials, and other relevant documents for PR initiatives.
  • Help coordinate interviews, photo sessions, and other media-related activities.
  • Support internal communication efforts, including drafting internal announcements, newsletters, and updates for employees.
  • Assist in maintaining the organization's intranet or internal communication platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for communication efforts.
  • Create regular reports to evaluate the impact of various communication strategies and suggest improvements.
  • Provide general administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, managing email communications, and maintaining communication resources and files.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong content creation skills (videography, photography, graphic design, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and creative design tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A strong interest in and understanding of current events, industry trends, and emerging communication technologies
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges

This internship provides an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience, hone communication skills, and contribute to the organization's overall communication efforts.
