The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a Division-I professional women's soccer league featuring the most prolific domestic and international players from around the globe. The league consists of Angel City FC, Bay FC, Boston, Chicago Red Stars, Houston Dash, Kansas City Current, NJ/NY Gotham FC, North Carolina Courage, Orlando Pride, Portland Thorns FC, Racing Louisville, San Diego Wave FC, Seattle Reign FC, Utah Royals FC, and Washington Spirit.
The NWSL office is growing to meet the demands of the changing global landscape of professional women's soccer. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about communications and possess a desire to make an impact on the future of soccer in the U.S. and around the world.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Intern will assist with all matters related to the league's communications department through December 31, 2024.
Primary Responsibilities
- Compile daily clips and monitor breaking news for league executive staff, board of governors and partners.
- Coordinating and distributing press materials including but not limited to press releases, advisories, game notes, player availability reports, credential applications and press kits.
- Assist in the coordination and distribution of league web content, including articles and features, related to the key storylines the NWSL wishes to promote.
- Research and develop thorough reports of other league communications processes/policies.
- Update and manage league media distribution lists.
- Assist the NWSL Communications and Marketing staff with media/operations plans for all league tentpole events.
- Assist with the administration of an annual satisfaction survey and the compilation of responses from team PR staffs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Pursuing or achieved bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills

- Previous experience and related internships preferred.

- Salary: $20.00/hr.
- Duration: March 2024 through December 2024.
