Job Summary:
The NATIVE Project is seeking a skilled and motivated Communications Coordinator to join our team. As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a vital role in promoting our organization's mission and engaging with our community stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing our communications channels, creating compelling content, coordinating marketing campaigns, and representing our organization professionally in various forums. We are dedicated to providing quality healthcare and wellness services to the Native American community, and the Communications Coordinator will be instrumental in amplifying our impact.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to enhance public awareness of The NATIVE Project's initiatives, vision, and services
- Manage and maintain the organization's website, social media platforms, and other digital communication channels
- Create engaging written and visual content, including blog posts, newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and marketing materials
- Coordinate and execute marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraisers, and community outreach programs
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as necessary
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate media relations activities
- Represent The NATIVE Project at community events, conferences, and meetings
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate relevant best practices into communications strategies
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in the nonprofit or healthcare sectors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading abilities
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing software
- Creative mindset and the ability to generate innovative ideas for communication content
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with media relations and a strong understanding of public relations principles
Knowledge of Native American culture, history, and healthcare issues preferred
