Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) is a non-profit family planning agency and a leader in sexual and reproductive healthcare, advocacy, and education in the state of Utah. We provide high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care for Utahns/people in eight health centers across the state.

Internship Program Overview
The PPAU Internship program provides an opportunity for engaging students and youth in movement work from an organizational perspective and building life-long activists by creating and nurturing supportive and active relationships and learning opportunities. This Internship Program seeks to provide learning opportunities grounded in movement building principles and mission driven strategies through a positive and inclusive internship experience. Alternatively, the PPAU internship program contributes to and expands the scope of the work of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah/Planned Parenthood Action Council of Utah in educating the community on issues that support the healthiest quality of life, and in advocating for the legal, social and cultural rights necessary for the full expression of Reproductive Freedom.
Position Description
The Communications & Marketing intern will assist the Marketing & Communication Team in administrative duties, graphic design, website updating, event planning, social media posting, research. The C & M intern will help the Marketing & Communication team with identifying community allies and opportunities for outreach and advocacy and coordinating outreach activities including marketing and promotion.
This position is for those interested in gaining experience in non-profit communications (marketing, public relations, and design), event planning, program planning, research, and campaign work. The candidate will be supported in effectively communicating messages around reproductive health to support the mission and advocacy work of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah and Planned Parenthood Action Council of Utah.
To promote success in the position, Interns will receive training in a variety of areas, including advocacy, political messaging; clinical messaging; educational messaging; and on-going professional development opportunities tailored to the Intern's interests and goals.

Organizing experience grounded in mission-based principles of justice and access.
Build deep/intentional relationships with the community, organizations and leaders who can support cross-collaboration efforts with Planned Parenthood.
Engage, educate, and mobilize communities on local initiative and Planned Parenthood services
Participate in community events/actions.
Manage logistics, planning, and implementation of efforts for local initiatives, events and partnerships
