Meaning "Our Home" in Ojibwe, the Ain Dah Yung Center (ADYC) provides a healing place within the community for American Indian youth and families to thrive in safety and wholeness.
Communications Specialist will manage the external and internal communications and promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on ADYC’s behalf. The specialist will manage the organization website, social media, and assist the development team as needed.
Pay starting $22/hr. Based on Experience.
Schedule: Hybrid Flexible Hours M-F between 8am -5pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Assist in the development of annual communications strategies for the agency to ensure all align with our mission and brand identity.
- Assist in the development and management of communications including annual financial summary reports, press releases, flyers, newsletters & social media calendars / postings.
- Maintain agency website including updating ADYC staff page, job postings, events, newsletters, etc.
- Assist in the creation & distribution of program brochures, and events communications both electronically and printed.
- Assist in the creation & editing of videos and presentations.
- Ensure all communications are free from proofreading errors before distribution or posting.
- Ensure photo/media releases are signed before posts are made public.
- Travel between sites and other business-related destinations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years communications experience preferred.
- Must be cognizant and sensitive to the needs of homeless youth and at-risk families.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the American Indian community
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.
