Centennial is seeking a dynamic Commercial Sales Managerto join a growing HVAC distributor. With 48 locations in 9 states, this organization is well on its way to reaching its goal of being number one in the industry while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
This position has on-target earnings of $150k+ and a company car.

The Commercial Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the Commercial Sales Department to meet/exceed Commercial Sales and profit objectives. This position will cover the Illinois and Iowa Territory and report to the Regional General Manager. Mostly day trips with overnight travel to cover the IA/Il territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop master Commercial Sales plan each year to review with Regional Manager and Director of Commercial Sales including Commercial Sales and profit objectives in alignment with company goals and strategies.
- Hire, develop, train, motivate, and supervise all assigned personnel as required to achieve regional objectives.
- Establish relationships with key principles and owners of local contractors, consulting engineering firms, and end users to influence business and provide feedback to Commercial Sales team.
- Provide direction and hold accountable each sales engineer to develop a yearly sales plan to include:
- Sales and margin goals by product category
- Market analysis defining areas of growth and opportunity
- Competitive landscape evaluation
- Key product strategies, actions, and tactics to exceed established sales goals
- Specific targeted customer sales actions to drive sales
- Conduct a yearly internal Commercial Sales team meeting to review department progress, celebrate wins, and develop a plan to improve challenge areas.
- Develop bench strength to include the future outside sales team. Interview and recruit for future growth objectives.
- Perform yearly performance reviews with all team members. Reviews should include career plans and goals for each employee as well as training required to continue progression in the organization.
- Organize and execute quarterly engineering seminars, target customer factory trips, and yearly customer appreciation events. Plan associated events to utilize commercial event and marketing funds.
- Conduct weekly sales meetings for commercial department to include call reports and pending closing projects.
- Develop an A&E sales call and reporting program. Track basis of designs.
- Establish a new customer target account list each year and assign accounts to sales engineers to grow customer base. Include contractors, owners, consulting engineering firms, general contractors, construction managers, and developers.
- Monitor, maintain and control of all Commercial Sales Department expenses within designated company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance of all company policies and directives in an effective and timely manner.
