POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Lines Account Executive is responsible for building and maintaining franchised agency relationships in an assigned territory. This position manages submissions and determines the best course of action for obtaining competitive quotes within required timeframes. An effective Commercial Account Executive has knowledge of various lines of insurance, an underwriting mindset, and the ability to provide outstanding service while juggling multiple carriers with diverse appetites. Great communication skills and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines is vital for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage franchised agency relationships and the placement of their commercial accounts
- Manage relationships with carrier underwriters and marketing staff
- Respond to inquiries from agency staff regarding available markets
- Market submissions:
- Pre-qualify submissions with knowledge of available carrier appetites
- Review applications and gather missing information required for a complete submission
- Negotiate with carrier underwriters
- Analyze quotes received against required coverages
- Present quotes to agency with recommendations
- Rate accounts in carrier systems as required
- Gather binding documents and place coverage with carriers
- Review new policies for accuracy and distribute accordingly
- Set up new policies in AMS once bound, including invoicing on agency/broker billed policies
- File surplus lines taxes and fees via WillComply when applicable

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Commercial P&C License
- Additional insurance designations are ideal-receiving or pursuing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with various lines of commercial insurance
- Industry knowledge of transportation or commercial agriculture is desired
