JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
We are seeking a skilled Working Tool Room Working Lead to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of our Tool Room. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of machining practices in a Tool Room environment, proficiency in manual machinery and CNC Programming, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of our Tool Room.
- Hand out jobs to the Tool Makers as they come out.
- Oversee the daily progress of each job and be available to assist in any way needed by the Tool makers.
- Assist teammates on completing jobs and tasks as scheduled.
- Be a team player and help where there is a need.
- Run machines to build details as needed.
- Oversee the shop cleanliness.
- Notify maintenance about any machine repair issues.
- Work with outside customers as needed on projects.
- Assist in new project reviews with engineering, offering insights and progress reports.
- Attend meetings and provide solutions to production-related issues.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of best machining practices in a Tool Room environment.
- Good working knowledge of all Tool Room manual machinery.
- Proficient in set-up and programming of CNC verticals, Horizontals and Lathes.
- Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, work closely with our Engineering, Quality, Production and Maintenance departments.
- Knowledge of Solid works, Gibbs Cam is preferred.
- Team player with respect for colleagues and ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills with team members and customers.
- Self-starter with strong character and self-discipline, capable of working independently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
In this position the employee may be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts & vibration. The noise level in the plant environment can be loud, hearing protection is provided and mandatory in certain areas. Physical requirements are as follows: the employee is required to talk and hear, is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, walk, stoop, read and write. The position may require occasional lifting, pushing & pulling of objects. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
