We seek a Fractional Chief Technology Officer to help the organization create a long-term vision and plan for our existing and future technology. The CTO will provide IT strategic operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization. We envision 5 to 10 hours per week support from the CTO.
We are interested in testing the concept of a fractional CTO to consider whether Orion has a long-term need for a CTO role. We invite qualified individuals and firms to submit a resume or proposal for consideration.
Responsibilities:
· Provide expert guidance and recommendations on the technology infrastructure of the company including the ERP system, e-commerce, and other customer facing applications.
· Work with third party IT providers to complete various types of projects in a timely, cost-effective manner.
· Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts to evaluate the best technical and economic solution.
· Create and adapt technological platforms to improve the customer and employee experience.
· Develop and manage effective working relationships with management and employees.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field.
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in information technology and data management.
· A highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills.
· Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
· Thorough knowledge of computer hardware and application software design.
· Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
· Great organizational, managerial, and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance requirements.
· Demonstrated experience in driving digital transformation, including implementing and integrating new technologies and solutions.
· Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
