Job/Position Summary
Generally, the CNC Programmer prepares detailed numerical control programs for use on CNC machinery. Designs processing and manufacturing sequences. Interprets prints, designs programs, and sets up machines to produce parts. Revises and/or updates programs to meet engineering or product changes.
Position Specific Essential Functions
Creates and monitors programs for EIA machines.
Reviews and modifies existing programs for increased efficiency.
Works with manufacturing and engineering personnel to develop efficient work holding methods.
Edits programs on the manufacturing floor using machine specific programming methods.
Prepares/processes drawings to aid in manufacturing of product.
Controls programs/process drawings (revision levels, etc.).
Prepares overlays for inspection of parts.
Reads, interprets, and understands technical drawings and specs.
Sets up machines in accordance with programs.
Uses computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.
Adjusts machine cutting paths and/or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
Considers tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
Creates and maintains programs in accordance with organizational processes and procedures; maintains organized files with appropriate part information.
Interacts with and maintains open communication with production personnel to ensure accurate programming information is provided and programs run efficiently and as planned and designed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Five (5) years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment, focusing on tight tolerances and high precision products or a combination of education and related CNC experience resulting in full knowledge of the practices, procedures, capabilities, and requirements of the position and machinery, but not less than five (5) years.
Background in satellite, aerospace, communications, and/or electronics industries preferable.
Proficient with Mastercam.
Advanced CAD/CAM knowledge.
Extensive experience with computer modeling software.
Understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
Advanced math skills.
Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise; mechanically inclined.
Familiarity with working properties of most materials.
Technical knowledge of parts.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and specs.
Ability to create, read, and understand complex spreadsheets.
Independent thinking and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Solid decision making skills.
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, including well-developed listening skills.
Courteous and professional demeanor; high level of integrity; demonstrated maturity and stability in word and actions.

Education & Employment Eligibility/Verification
High school graduate with trigonometry competency.

Position Schedule & Particulars
Full-Time
Monday through Friday | 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
40 hours per week required minimum. When necessary, must be able to work overtime to meet operational deadlines.
Standard Pay Range
Standard pay range $29.50-$40.00 plus, DOE. Compensation at hire is based on job knowledge and experience and may be higher than standard pay range if competencies exceed position requirements.
Future compensation increases are based on job knowledge, performance, competence, and skill, including soft skills.
