Role Overview:
As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding cloud-based information systems against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction. You'll be at the forefront of monitoring networks and systems for security breaches, leading incident response efforts, and researching methods to remediate security vulnerabilities. This position contributes significantly to strategic initiatives for short and long-term plans to enhance the overall security posture across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises applications and systems. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and defend cloud-based information systems against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
- Utilize advanced technologies for Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudFormation, AWS Security Hub, S3, Batch, API Gateway, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SFTP, DynamoDB, and Config.
- Lead security incident response, including preparation, detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Research and implement methods to remediate network and application security vulnerabilities.
- Lead and participate in security architecture controls reporting, compliance audits, and risk-focused reports.
- Provide cloud information security expertise to system development teams throughout the life cycle process.
- Resolve complex security projects and issues, developing security standards focused on cloud and SaaS-based options.
- Collaborate with business units to enhance operational security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Networking, or Computer Science-related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a Security Engineering-related role designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Security services.
- AWS Certified Security – required. AWS Developer or Solutions Architect Associate - Security Emphasis preferred.
- Certification in GSEC, CISSP, and/or Security+ preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Direct experience using advanced technologies such as IDS/IPS, Firewalls, SIEM, Antivirus software, Network Packet Analyzers, content filtering, and Malware analysis tools.
- Expertise in AWS Services including AWS Identity & Access Management, AWS Security Hub, Guard Duty, CloudTrail, and AWS CloudTrail.
- Knowledge of enterprise security platforms.
