Cloud Security Software Engineer - 6Mo Contract

 Peak is looking for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER in San Diego, CA. This is a contract position.
SCOPE:

• Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools.
• Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

KNOWLEDGE:

• A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
• This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

COMPLEXITY:

• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

SUPERVISION:

• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

EXPERIENCE:

• Typically requires 4-6 years of related experience.

Additional Job Details:

• Prefers local to San Diego Security Support – Provide support to client's owned services such BlueLogin, Enforcer, KTBR, etc. and help resolve issues for other teams so other members of the team can focus on other development work and meet deadlines on time.
• Improve Security Posture- Document Cloud Security policies and monitor the cloud infrastructure within Platform for Security Vulnerabilities using home-grown tool such as Enforcer, Aero or third-party tools such as Prisma, Qualys, etc. and act on it.
• Investing Security incidents- Help troubleshoot cloud related issues related to Security & compliance using tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Security dashboards, etc.
• This will help reduce the dependency on SOC teams for acting on the security findings.
• Automation – Scripting & automating regular manual tasks which will make the process fast and free up time for the whole team to focus on other priority areas.
• Overall, it will definitely benefit team to help grow by taking time out for Trainings, build more tools/pipelines for other project requirements & meet deadlines in a timely manner.
