Closet / Cabinet Design Consultant

The Closet Company is seeking Design Consultants to join our sales team, where you'll be working directly with clients to design spaces that they fall in love with. If you are creative, have good communication skills and like helping people get organized then we should talk.

What you’ve done, and what you do:

• Interior design, space planning, kitchen/bath design, closet or storage design experience, whether doodling designs for your own home while working in a different field, or as a professional design/sales role.
• Not intimidated by learning basic woodworking methods and terminology
• You are confident measuring spaces with lasers and tape measures, and understand how the location of obstacles can influence your designs
• You have experience in outside sales in the home or commercial design industries and are the reason your clients continue to buy what you’re selling
• Had the opportunity (or wished you’ve had) to sell a truly superior product at a healthy discount from the competition.
• Understand and appreciate the importance of building relationships with clients and co-workers.
• Find joy in inspiring others with your creativity and talents
• Had an opportunity to succeed in selling products that you have created and that you believe in
• Are a meticulously detailed person and a stickler for being thorough.

Our story:

We are family. We also happen to be master woodworkers and award-winning designers. Nearly 4 decades ago, we brought the closet industry to the southeast. With 5 locations established by 1985, we quickly became the experts that others followed behind. Having multiple locations taught us a tough lesson, though. We found that growth required standardization. Standardizing a product means that you have compromised what you ultimately can do for your clients. Other companies were ok with compromising, and franchises began opening all over the country in a mad race to the bottom. Out of a refusal to compromise, we sold 4 of those 5 locations and focused on being the absolute best in our home city of Nashville. Since 1983, we have designed over 43,000 custom solutions for clients all over middle Tennessee, Kentucky and north Alabama. We’ve received a number of awards for our designs, and were most recently recognized for the best closet design in 2020 by Woodworking Magazine. We are the go-to resource for the area’s premier interior designers, custom home builders, multi-family/condo developers, and architects. The best way to describe who we are is to blend a premier closet-based business with a custom cabinet/trim company. We offer products that compete with the local closet franchises, as well as custom trim and cabinet shops, and do so at a price point that is far more attractive than either are able to match. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
