The Senior UX Designer role specializes in making UX designs with a human-centered approach for SCRI IT to build mobile, digital and web applications that are intuitive, innovative and that people love to use.
This Senior-level role works on complex requirements and build them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs for the first-time user to a power user. This requires collaboration with cross functional teams of Analysts, Leaders, Designers, Researchers, Developers and Product Managers. During this process the UX Designer is responsible for building user requirements, user research, sitemaps, information architectures, wireframes, visual designs, mockups, and design quality assurance signoffs. At each stage, they will anticipate what the user needs, advocate for them and ensure that the final product is elegant and effective.
The Senior UX Designer has proven skills creating valuable and actionable UX documentation, fantastic visual design skills, is passionate to understand how to make a complex product feel simple and intuitive and has the ability to clearly articulate how a product should work both in applications and in the physical world.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Take direction from Director of SCRI IT Development and Data Operations
  • Consult on UX for the SCRI applications
  • Mentor junior designers and act as primary contact for clients and business partners
  • Build the visual design assets and design systems assets for all mobile, digital & responsive web application properties
  • Manage the SCRI implementation of a repeatable design process through roadmaps, backlog items, documentation, training, and quality assurance
  • Provide thought leadership, consultation and coordination with Business Analysts, Product Analysts, Developers, Designers, Leadership, and Vendors to ensure amazing UX work is delivered for patients, clinicians, and users
  • Manage creation of deliverables and present to the business, field partners and co-workers
  • Manage projects and coordinate directly with stakeholders, junior team members & clients
  • Manage design sessions, user requirements sessions, end user sessions, and related documentation
  • Direct work to make sure all assets are within corporate brand guidelines
  • Provide Leadership and oversight for design tasks including work allocation and roadblock removal for team members
  • Deliver digital working files and comps for developers and clients
  • Evaluate junior team member's work based on the corporate standards and design system
  • Design and deliver projects on time and within the given budget
  • Lead projects to deliver outstanding application experiences through research, wire-framing, prototyping and producing high fidelity interfaces for digital products
  • Lead troubleshooting activities and quality assurance tasks
  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that Senior to intuitive user experiences.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate on documentation & designs
  • Direct and oversee deliverables from vendor partners
  • Effectively manage workflow given
  • Maintain great organization skills, collaborate and communicate professionally with team members, clients & stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of human design thinking, design, form, color theory, typography and layout
  • Review, consult and perform RFP for vendor and tool selection
  • Developing understanding of contracting, budgets and financial operations
  • Provide after-hours/on-call support as needed
  • Remain agile, flexible, inventive, and collaborative
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload while ensuring work continues to flow in a timely manner
  • Able work with a team and by themselves
  • Manage and collaborate on design workflow
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in UX Design
  • Excellent knowledge of current technology platforms such native iOS, Android, browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox in mobile and desktop as well as Internet Explorer)
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to educate, evangelize and empower people for UX processes
  • Knowledge of UX wireframes & prototypes tools such as Sketch, Figma, Studio, Adobe XD, InVision, UXPin, Axure, Balsamiq, or other related tools.
  • Experience with adaptive & responsive web design techniques. Ideally this experience would include implementing one or more well-known responsive design frameworks such as Flex, Twitter Bootstrap, Foundation, Skeleton, etc.
  • Experience leveraging automation code building tools from high fidelity mockups
  • Experience working on interfaces for native apps, web apps, wearables, voice interfaces, zero UI, large format interfaces, TV as a platform, kiosks, IOT, and other emerging consumer and health grade technology.
  • Experience utilizing design systems such as Google Material
  • Have a firm foundation designing native & non-native web apps on iOS (iPhone, iPad), Android and other appropriate mobile interfaces.
  • Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
  • Solid understanding of web formatting (HTML5 and CSS3, including Less, Sass, or Stylus) is a plus but not required
  • Experience with US 21 CFR Part 11 regulations is a plus
