Job Description
The Clinical Therapist is a key associate at Hope Network Behavioral Health Services and Developmental and Community Services whose primary responsibilities include: Assisting with the implementation and delivery of clinical services offered in the BHS and DCS programs. The Clinical Therapist provides individual and group therapy treatment and direction for specific treatment needs with the goal of promoting exceptional resident care and an optimal working environment for our support team members throughout the BHS and DCS continuum of care.
Pay starting from: $50,523 (commensurate with experience)

- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.

- Assess future needs, prepare for and develop staff and services to meet future expectations related to client needs.
- Model and promote good communication and positive representation of the program to consumers, customers, other program areas, and the public.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of risk, needs, and strengths, for individuals residing in various settings. Must have strong written communication skills.
- Provide individual and group therapy as indicated by assessment of need along with training of specific therapeutic tools, models, and concepts. Consult with teams with the goal of enhancing clinical quality, staff competence and skill development, coordination/ integration of clinical services with vocational and residential services, and achievement of consumer outcomes. Ability to meet clients in person and virtually.
- Provide thorough documentation of services rendered in a timely manner.
- Maintain consumer records – meeting all appropriate standards according to HNBHS and all regulatory bodies.
- Link and coordinate follow-up of professional recommedations.
- Facilitate communication with treatment team to ensure that therapeutic needs are identified, communicated, and met.
- Meet with assigned consumers face-to-face as deemed medically necessary in their Individual Plan of Service.
- Provides consultation to direct care staff regarding clinical and program issues, where applicable.
- Will be required to travel occasionally to various Hope Network Programs, outside agencies, and hospitals.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to clinical teams with the goal of implementing best practices with persons served, and ongoing development of clinical team members.
- Maintain active communications with leaders at all locations offering similar services to ensure similar clinical systems, procedures, and philosophical treatment approach is maintained. Serve as a consultant as needed.
- Coordinate agency response to challenging resident issues that exceed standard operational protocols.
- Perform assessment of risk and need to determine appropriate responsivity measures. Consult with other team members to ensure that clinical tools are being utilized accurately.
- Ability to provide licensure supervision in the near future.
Educational / Talent Requirements:
- Minimum Education required: Masters in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling (MSW, LLP, LPC) degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning in a clinically related field.
- Professional Licensure required: Active licensure as an LMSW, LLP, LPC, LLMSW, TLLP, LMFT, or LLPC in the State of Michigan is required for this position.
- Specialized skills/knowledge required: Experience with mental health needs, knowledge of risk assessment principles and trauma-informed care are all necessary requirements of this position. Experience providing therapy to a diverse client population. Must be culturally responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirmative.
Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years experience as a licensed clinician, and three years of experience in the field of human services is required. Experience working with individuals who have mental illness, criminal behaviors, and/or developmental disabilities is needed for this position.
- Experience in public mental health or a closely related field.
- Understanding of the necessity of a trauma-informed approach to working with individuals.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable according to Hope Network policy.
