This Clinical Research Assistant II will be responsible for:
- Collecting data, including recruiting participants, administering surveys and interviews, abstracting patient charts, and obtaining hospital administrative data
- Overseeing data collection at other study sites
- Training and overseeing study staff
- Maintaining REDCap databases
- Entering, maintaining, and cleaning data, as well as preparing data reports
- Conducting simple quantitative and qualitative analyses, including coding and analyzing qualitative interview transcripts
- Assisting research biostatisticians with interim and final analyses
- Preparing graphs, charts, and other visuals
- Supporting writing of abstracts, poster presentations, research articles, and other scholarship with strong possibility of co-authorship opportunities
- Assisting with grant writing, grant preparation, and grant submissions
- Preparing grant progress reports
- Conducting literature reviews
- Keeping IRB documentation and study protocols up to date
- Providing meeting support (e.g., scheduling, agendas, minutes)
- Assisting with maintaining study budgets
- Other duties as needed
In order to qualify for the position you must have:
- Bilingual skills preferred in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Haitian Creole, or other study languages
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM, psychology, or related fields
- Master’s degree in public health or epidemiology preferred but not required
- 1-3 years of Clinical Research experience, including patient recruitment, data entry, and data management
- 1 year minimum work experience
- Interest in patient safety, communication, quality improvement, health equity, family-centered care, or pediatric quality
- Analytic skills to gather and interpret data in an organized, accurate, and timely manner
- Working knowledge and experience with data management and statistical software (e.g., SAS, REDCap)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong self-motivation, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Receptiveness to feedback and a growth mindset
- The ability to prioritize assignments and become familiar with new topics quickly
- A 2-year time commitment preferred
- A passion for partnering with patients and families to improve patient safety, quality, and equity
