JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Instructor assists in the daily operations of our NYS approved Nurse Aide Training Program. Nurse Aide student employees are training through classroom, clinical laboratory, and in-facility experiences. The Clinical Instructor assist the RN instructor in the presentation and demonstration of skills for the NYS certification exam.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides direct, hands-on supervision of the Nurse Aide Trainees during in-facility clinical training
• Determines trainee assignments and evaluates competence
• Responsible for communicating progress of performance to the Program Coordinator
• Maintains trainee attendance record
• Completes the clinical skills performance record for each trainee
• Assists in planning, developing, directing, evaluating, and coordinating Nurses and Nurse Aide training program

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
• Experience in long-term care facility required
• Quality assurance and nurse education experience required
• Able to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actions regarding infection control and nurse education
• Ability to work well with and show respect toward other healthcare personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents, and their family members
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and oral instructions
• Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
• Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
